The discussion leader will introduce the chapter and talk about it for about 5 minutes or so and then lead the share/thoughts part of the meeting for the participants.  The room stays open for about a half hour and people have been hanging out afterwards and continuing discussion on the reading or Big Book in general.

Our goal is to keep people focused on the reading and interpreting the Big Book in a secular way and how it relates to their sobriety. No arguments and long winded shares focusing on the wording used. Just understanding the intention of the content, history and the principles of what we are reading. The discussion leader is vital to this.

We need long-timers who have a positive mindset when it comes to the Big Book, finds value in it and are willing to enlighten those of us that are clueless with their thoughts and perceptions.

Each week we post a "weekly digest" on the website Secular Big Book Study.  Audio of the discussion leader (if the leader agrees) and summary comments from the participants are posted.  This is distributed weekly to our newsletter list and whatsapp.  It allows people who can not attend to keep up with the readings along with us. Listen to the speaker and read comments from the other participants on their thoughts and perceptions. 

I am also doing SEO to reach people new people searching on google for where to go to read the Big Book using secular keywords and will point them to these digest pages.  Once they can see that others are thinking like them, I think there is a very positive chance they might drop in and visit the meeting for the first time.
